          We talk about cost directly

The price of surgery is what patients ask about most often at the first consultation, and that is normal. I explain what the amount will depend on in your particular case and which payment options there are.

          Laparoscopic and open surgery

I perform operations by both approaches, so I choose the one that suits your particular case. For small lesions in the liver there is radiofrequency ablation — destroying the tumor with heat without cutting into the liver.

          Complex liver surgery

Together with the team, I perform liver operations for multiple metastases under the guidance of a navigation system, as well as simultaneous laparoscopic procedures on the bowel and the liver — through small punctures, when this is possible.

A year of follow-up after surgery

For a year after the operation I review your test results and CT and MRI images, answer questions and help with decisions about further treatment. It is a separate service — more on it below.

          Direct contact with me

Calls to my mobile number and messages come to me personally, with no call center. If I did not answer, I am in surgery: I will call back within 24 hours.

          Science, not only practice

A PhD thesis and scientific articles — including on radiofrequency ablation of colorectal cancer metastases in the liver. I treat according to current international guidelines and know what they are based on.

It is impossible to name the price of cancer surgery “in general”: it depends on the extent of the procedure, the approach, the number of days in the hospital and the tests before surgery. That is why this page has no price list — it explains what the cost consists of and how to find out the amount for your case. The in-person consultation at which we discuss this is free. Payment for surgery can be split into parts.

What the cost of surgery depends on

Two patients with the same diagnosis may need completely different operations. Several things affect the amount.

          Extent of the procedure

Removing one small lesion and removing part of an organ together with lymph nodes are operations of different complexity and duration.

          Approach

A laparoscopic operation through small punctures and an open operation require different equipment, instruments and materials.

          One stage or several

Sometimes the bowel and the liver are operated on at the same time, sometimes in two stages with a break. This defines the treatment plan, and with it the cost.

          Days in the hospital

The length of stay depends on the extent of surgery and the approach: after a laparoscopic procedure it is usually shorter.

          Tests before surgery

What has already been done and what still needs to be done. Additional tests and examinations can be done at any clinic of your choice.

          Anesthesia and materials

The type of anesthesia, consumables and medicines also affect the total amount.

Why there is no price list on the website

The exact amount can be determined only after the treatment plan has been clarified. Until I have seen the images, it is impossible to say which operation exactly is needed, whether it can be done laparoscopically and whether chemotherapy will be needed before it. And everything else depends on that.

I do not want you to plan your budget around a figure that will change later. So the exact amount is named once the treatment plan has been defined: after the consultation, the review of images and, if necessary, further tests.

How to find out the cost for your case

          1. Request or documentsYou book a consultation or, if you are from another city, first send the images and medical records.
          2. Review of imagesI look at the CT and MRI images and assess whether there are grounds to consider surgery and what data is missing.
          3. PlanAfter an in-person examination and further tests we define the extent of surgery. In complex cases the decision is made by a tumor board.
          4. CostOnce the plan is clear, we name the amount and the payment terms, including the option of installments.
          5. Your decisionThe consultation does not commit you to anything: you decide for yourself where and with whom to be treated.

If you are not in Kyiv, start with the documents — that way you will know whether it makes sense to travel before the trip. More details are on the page “Online Oncologist Consultation”.

          Payment and installments

          Free

The in-person consultation is free. You pay neither for the appointment nor for the review of your images. The conversation about the cost of surgery is part of this consultation.

Payment for surgery can be split into parts — installments are provided by the clinic itself, not a bank. Discounts are possible and are set individually. We discuss the terms once the amount is known.

A year of follow-up after surgery is a separate paid service: for a year I review your test results and images, answer questions and help with decisions about further treatment. I will explain the terms at the appointment.

If the price is the main thing holding you back

The cost of treatment is a weighty part of the decision, and it is worth talking about openly. Until there is a treatment plan, there is no exact amount either.

Book a consultation or send the documents: that way we will find out what data is missing for the plan, and we will name the exact cost once the plan has been agreed. Tell me if your budget is limited: some of the tests can be done in your own city, and the payment can be split into parts.

          Frequently asked questions

How much does cancer surgery cost?

It depends on the extent of the procedure, the approach, the number of days in the hospital and the tests before surgery. The exact amount is named after the consultation, once the treatment plan has been defined.

Can I find out the price by phone?

An individual estimate requires the documents and an agreed treatment plan. Send the images and medical records — after reviewing them I will be able to say whether there are grounds to consider surgery and what is needed for the plan.

          Are installments available?

Yes, installments are provided by the clinic itself, not a bank. We discuss the terms once the amount is known. Discounts are possible and are set individually.

          Is the consultation paid?

The in-person consultation is not. The appointment, the examination and the review of your images are free of charge. After the consultation you decide for yourself where and with whom to be treated.

Is the year of follow-up included in the cost of surgery?

No, the year of follow-up after surgery is a separate paid service. I will explain the terms at the appointment.

Can I have the tests done in my own city?

Yes. Additional tests and examinations can be done at any clinic of your choice — the main thing is that you have the discs with the images, not only the reports.

I am from another city. Do I need to travel to find out the cost?

Not necessarily. First send the images and medical records: I will review them and say whether there are grounds to consider surgery and whether it makes sense to come for an in-person consultation.

How treatment is organized: six steps

The conversation about cost takes place at the first step — when your documents have been reviewed and it is clear which operation is needed.

          1. Step 1 you are here

Review of the clinical situation: all examination materials, CT and MRI discs, medical history.

          2. Step 2

Discussion of the case by a multidisciplinary team with oncologists, medical oncologists and radiologists.

          3. Step 3

Surgery according to international protocols together with a team of surgical oncologists.

          4. Step 4

The early postoperative period under the ERAS enhanced recovery protocol.

          5. Step 5

Deciding on further management and support during the chemotherapy stage.

          6. Step 6

Advisory support for a year: monitoring test results and reviewing CT and MRI discs.
