Cervical cancer
A malignant tumor that occurs in an area of the cervix. Depending on its histological structure, cervical cancer is divided into adenocarcinoma and squamous cell cancer.
Symptoms of cervical cancer:
- vaginal or pelvic pain
- menstruation is heavier and more painful than usual
- pain during sexual intercourse
- clear, yellow or bloody discharge from the vagina
- contact (after intercourse) vaginal bleeding
- painful urination
- abnormal outflow of urine (dysuria)
- disorder of defecation
Risk factors:
The likelihood of developing the disease is influenced by:
- long-term use of oral contraceptives
- alcohol abuse
- smoking
- early sexual life
- refusal of “barrier” contraceptives
- immunosuppression (suppression of immunity)
- promiscuity
- protozoal or bacterial infection
- asthenic syndrome
- excessive dieting
- obesity
- AIDS
Cancer of the uterine body
A malignant tumor arising from the epithelium of the uterine body. Depending on its histological structure, uterine corpus cancer is divided into adenocarcinoma, mucinous cancer, serous adenocarcinoma, squamous cell cancer, glandular squamous cell cancer, clear cell endometrial carcinoma, and leiomyosarcoma.
Symptoms of uterine body cancer:
- disruption of the menstrual cycle
- profuse colorless discharge with an unpleasant odor
- pain in the lower abdomen and lower back
- in older women – bloody discharge after the onset of menopause
- urinary disorders (when the bladder is affected)
- defecation disorders (when the rectum is affected)
Risk factors:
The likelihood of developing the disease is influenced by:
- age-related changes
- excessive weight
- family history of cancer
- early age at onset of menstruation (less than 12 years), and later age at cessation of menstruation (older than 55 years)
- taking hormonal medications
